Gift Idea For a Friend With Breast Cancer – 3 Tips

Know someone with breast cancer? When you found out about their diagnosis, you were probably immediately saddened and dismayed. Just as it is for the person who has actually received a cancer diagnosis, their friends, family and co-workers can also experience a feeling of helplessness upon hearing the news.

Breast Cancer Is A Formidable Opponent

And, you are right to be concerned. Breast cancer forces women (and some men) to put up a valiant fight in order to have the chance of overcoming the disease. The treatments for breast cancer can be very trying and hard on the body, and the disruption in one’s lifestyle can add stress to the patient’s life.

The good news is that breast cancer is a very high-profile disease. With organizations like Susan G. Komen for the Cure and others raising awareness through organized walking events and other fundraisers, a lot of attention and money is put into fighting the disease each year.

The Fight Is Easier With Friends On Your Side

There is good news for you, too. That is: you can actually make a difference in this person’s life. The good energy that comes from your visits, phone calls, letters, and other forms of attention can enliven their days and encourage progress toward healing.

The very best gift you can give a friend with breast cancer is your time. You may be concerned about visiting or calling too often, and your concerns may be well-founded given that they may not be feeling up to par. But, you can give in other ways. Offer to help run errands for them or take them to and from treatments.

Another way to give is to give an actual gift, of course.

Gift Ideas For A Friend With Breast Cancer

If you are looking for a gift idea for a friend with breast cancer, these 3 tips can help guide your search:

1. Focus on their interests – then go one step further: There is no one-size-fits-all gift. You need to start with the person’s interests in mind. But, take it one step further. For example, if she likes golf, you might NOT want to get her a golf club at this time (see below). But, instead you could get her a golf video, or a golf memento for the home, or a golf-themed crossword puzzle. You get the idea.

2. Express compassion with your gift: Your gift should be all about them – not you. Do not get something for them that you would want to receive. Rather, get them something they want. And, be sure to choose a gift that speaks of your compassion. There should be a gentleness and a thoughtfulness to the gift and to the message in any card you attach.

3. Be conscious of physical limitations: Obviously, you will want to avoid anything that they cannot immediately use or do now. As with the golf club example above, the gift should reflect their current situation. After all, it may be a while before they are able to go back to doing all of the things they love.

Follow these 3 tips when thinking of the right gift ideas for a friend with breast cancer.

Immunotherapy Offers New Hope in Lung Cancer Treatment

While the figures associated with lung cancer remain rather grim, a new treatment is offering hope for some patients diagnosed with non-small cell tumors. Immunotherapy has shown such promise, in fact, that many clinicians are leading the charge for this therapy to be used as a first line option in place of harsher chemotherapy in particular cases.

Immunotherapy involves the use of drugs that are designed to stimulate the body’s own immune system into more effectively fighting off cancer. These drugs get the immune system to target cancer cells, which can slow their growth, shrink tumors and effectively kill off cells in some cases. New drugs developed for this purpose have been showing such strong results that doctors believe they should replace chemo as the first option for treatment in some cases. Aside from the positive results they are producing, immunotherapy drugs have the ability to reduce the likely side effects patients experience during treatment. Since the immune system can distinguish between healthy and diseased cells, patients tend to tolerate immunotherapy medications much more readily than toxic chemo drugs. The end result is not only a greater likelihood for improved treatment, but also higher quality of life during the battle against lung cancer.

Recent trials involving the use of immunotherapy drugs in lung cancer treatment did, in fact, show terribly positive outcomes. When put up against a chemotherapy treatment, a new immunotherapy drug produced median progression free survival rates of 10.3 months versus six for chemo. Overall survival was also dramatically improved when the immunotherapy drug was used in place of chemo. The rate at six months was 80 percent for the immunotherapy drug versus 72 percent for chemo. At the one-year point, the drug showed a 70 percent rate versus just under 55 percent for the chemo. The reduction in death risk was also highly positive, researchers found.

Although the trials showed very strong outcomes for immunotherapy, researchers have found that this course of action does work better in some cases versus others. The highest level of positive outcomes was witnessed in patients who presented with a particular biomarker. That finding has given rise to some clinicians calling for biomarker screening when early stage non-small cell lung cancer is diagnosed. Should the marker be present, immunotherapy may offer a great deal of hope for patients in improving prognosis while maintaining quality of life.

Lung cancer affects more than 222,000 Americans each year. Some 155,000 die from the disease. If this disease is suspected, people are strongly encouraged to seek medical attention. Early detection and treatment can lead to more positive outcomes.

New All-Natural Supplement Proven to Help Prevent and Heal Liver Conditions

Tokyo, Japan, June 3rd, 2017 — Highly-regarded company Kyotsujigyo Inc. recently introduced Yojyo Henshi Ko to markets outside of Japan, offering a natural-based liver supplement that is clinically proven to improve liver health.

Yojyo Henshi Ko, known as YHK ( ), has a patented formula specifically geared toward being as natural as possible. The formula consists of the following powerful herbs: panax pseudo ginseng, euccommia ulmoides, licorice root and rhizoma polygonati. These ingredients are known in nature to have strong anti-oxidant and healing effects in the body. “Yojyo Henshi Ko is the liver therapy of nature,” said Kyotsujigyo Hong Kong Branch Manager James Ma. “Our company has more than 25 years of experience in inventing healing supplements, and YHK is one that is specifically designed for liver recovery.”

With more than 30 different clinical scientific studies conducted and many research papers published, YHK is the most advanced liver protection supplement currently available. The scientific-based supplement holds patents in the United States, Canada, Japan, Europe and China. “Our product is suitable for people with all kinds of liver problems and conditions, especially for those who have chronic liver problems,” Ma said.

Published research data collected by the U.S. National Library of Medicine ( indicates that YHK can help treat and prevent NASH. NASH, Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (a type of fatty liver disease), is becoming increasingly common for people who do not consume large amounts of alcohol. It is predicted to be the leading cause of liver transplants by the year 2020. This condition is caused by liver inflammation and damage due to the buildup of fat in the liver. The damage causes the liver to not work as well as it should. Additionally, NASH can cause scarring on the liver and lead to cirrhosis. Clinical data shows that YHK can strengthen and recover liver function and lower the ALT liver enzyme level.

Currently, there is no known medical treatment for NASH, which makes YHK a unique and viable option for people who suffer from liver problems. “When YHK is taken as directed, enzyme levels will lower and normalize,” said Ma, explaining YHK’s immediate results. “More than ninety percent of chronic liver disease patients saw liver improvement after 14 days of use.”

YHK has received a great deal of positive consumer feedback on its website. Customer reviews claim that the supplement does precisely what it guarantees to do, produces life-changing results, and improves health and liver function. Since it is composed of all-natural ingredients, YHK is safe to take with other medicines.

Professionally-recommended, YHK can strengthen and repair liver cells; recover and protect liver function; help the liver function properly; and prevent further damage–all with no health side effects. It is considered to be safe for long-term use.

Consumers can also experience the following benefits when taking YHK as suggested:

* Improved energy level
* Better appetite
* Improved sleep
* Improved skin
* Reduced side effects from other medications.
* Enhanced immune system
* Reduce risk of liver cancer
